Pets for Patriots is a charity that operates nationally to save lives by matching adoptable pets with United States veterans and service members. They work to improve wellness within the military community and promote the adoption of shelter pets.

If your cat or dog has a litter of adoptable kittens/puppies, you can make arrangements to surrender them to us to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We will find them good homes. We’ll also spay and vaccinate mamma (and dad, if applicable).

If you need to rehome your pet, BMHS offers a Home to Home program for stress-free direct rehoming, avoiding shelter stays, and a surrender option for those who can't find a new home. Both services prioritize your pet's wellbeing and aim to find loving homes efficiently.

The TNR program addresses feral cat colony overpopulation, health, and sustainability. It involves monthly events for groups of non-human-friendly cats. The process includes trapping, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and returning cats to their colonies, significantly reducing strays, euthanasia, and complaints.

Blue Mountain Humane Society has healthy cats that are just waiting to work! Working cats are feral or semi-feral cats that are not adoptable as house pets. However, these cats will thrive in suitable indoor/outdoor homes such as barns, warehouses, shops, garages, or vineyard properties.

Our dog training program at the Washington State Penitentiary provides essential training and skill-building opportunities for shelter dogs and a unique opportunity for the handlers entrusted to train them. Dogs who go through the program are taught skills to help them pass the Canine Good Citizen test and find their forever homes.

We provide complimentary, temporary accommodation for up to 10 days for pets belonging to individuals receiving assistance at the YWCA or Christian Aid Center, with arrangements required through these organizations.
