Get to know Luna
Puppies come and puppies go, but some of our adult doggos have been here for a while. They’re ready to go home! So we’re doing a little feature on one of these deluxe doggies who we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know during their weeks or months here. Meet our diamonds in the Ruff.
Luna’s favorite thing in the whole wide world is playing in the pool. Well, for right now at least – and who can blame her? It’s been so hot in Walla Walla – so she’s been getting in early morning play sessions to splash around. She likes to snuffle her nose into the water and blow bubbles. She likes to crawl around in circles then stand up and shake the water out of her fur. While all we’ve got here is a kiddie pool, we have our suspicions that Luna would LOVE the beach.
She loves hugs. She loves belly rubs. If you’re sitting on a bench in the sunshine, she’d like to flop herself upside-down right at your feet.
She’s got just about the prettiest doggy eyes we’ve ever seen – she’d like to use them to look sweetly into your face while hoping for belly rubs. She also has this delightful wolfy-looking coat – quite the opposite of “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” – Luna is a playful, loving sweetheart in wolf’s clothing. She’s got a swooshy tail, beautiful fur, and in the sunlight she’s a bit of a red-head about the ears! Plus – look at these cute, high-contrast toe-beans! She hasn’t quite figured out how to shake with them yet, but she’s working on it.
She is very, very good at sit, especially for a treat – she’d like you to know, if she gets a choice, her favorite treats to sit for are chicken jerky. And she’s got a fantastic nose… whichever pocket I’ve got a treat in is the one she sniffs at.
She’s a happy dog with a happy-doggy-smile – and her doggy-smile just gets bigger if you’re up for playing fetch. She makes our smiles get bigger, too. She’s a treat to take for a walk - and while we’ll miss her fiercely, we all agree she’s been here too long.
Luna would be great for playing out in your backyard with older kids (she’s a bit energetic for little ones). Even though she’s not a tiny puppy, she’s only a year and a half old – she’s got a full life ahead of her, and a big dose of healthy pup energy. She’d like to request a human friend who wants to go for walks, runs, or hikes. She’d love to go on adventures with you – even if they’re just a lap around the block!
Luna came to us with her brother, Lobo – so we know she can make friends with other dogs. She also gets quite the tail-wag going when she sees another dog out for a walk, on the other side of the fence – but doesn’t get barky about it. If you already have a dog and are looking for another, she could be a great fit – we recommend bringing your pup here for a meet-and-greet to make sure they hit it off.
We always do a free 3-day home trial for adult dogs, so you can get to know this great doggo in your home to be certain you’re a perfect match. We always want the homes we find for our animals to be FOREVER homes - so we want Luna to have the chance to get to know you! (She’s excited about it. Every time she sees someone new around here she gets all giddy and tail-waggy… is THIS the one???)
Luna is a Good Dog who deserves a forever home with a patch of sunlight to roll in, a soft bed or couch to nap on, a few tasty treats to sit for, and (hopefully!) a kiddie pool for hot, sunshiney days. She’s 100% ready to join your family, and make her snuggling, playing, and going-for-walks skills all yours.
